Greetings, esteemed colleagues. It is with great pleasure that I stand before you today to share a glimpse into my journey in the realm of scientific research. My name is Prakhar Singh, and I am a dedicated PhD scholar at Gurukula Kangri, a deemed university located in the serene city of Haridwar, India. Since embarking on my academic voyage in 2017, I have been deeply engrossed in the study of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials, or NORMs, in the southeast region of the Indian Himalayas. This area, rich in natural beauty, also poses unique challenges and opportunities for research in radioactive materials that are part of our natural environment. My focus has been on understanding the distribution, behavior, and impact of these materials, specifically Radon, Thoron, Radium, Thorium, and Uranium, on our surroundings and, by extension, on human health. The pursuit of knowledge in this field has not been a solitary journey. It has led me to collaborate with fellow researchers and contribute to the scientific community through more than 15 research publications in various distinguished journals. Each publication marks a step forward in our collective understanding of NORMs and their implications for both the environment and public health. In recognition of the importance of disseminating nuclear knowledge and fostering international collaboration, I have applied to participate in the joint ICTP-IAEA International School on Nuclear Knowledge Management. This prestigious event is set to take place at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, from the 30th of September to the 4th of October, 2024. I am convinced that this opportunity will be a cornerstone for my future career, allowing me to deepen my expertise, expand my professional network, and contribute more significantly to the field of nuclear science. The knowledge and experience gained from this event will not only enhance my research capabilities but also enable me to contribute more effectively to global efforts in managing and utilizing nuclear knowledge for the betterment of humanity. As I stand on the cusp of this exciting opportunity, I am filled with anticipation for the insights and experiences that await. I look forward to engaging with experts from around the world, sharing my findings, and contributing to the rich tapestry of nuclear science knowledge. In closing, I am grateful for the chance to present my journey and aspirations to you all. I am eager to embark on this next phase of my academic and professional journey, armed with the support and collaboration of the global scientific community. Thank you for your attention and for the opportunity to share my passion and dedication to advancing the field of radioactive material research.
